Anjelica

Long before she was Wes Anderson's leading lady Anjelica Huston was quite a face in the fashion world. She was a shop girl at Biba (dream job!) in the 60's, and also a distinguished model in the early 70's. Whilst browsing a vintage copy of Vogue the other day I found the most stunning pictorial featuring her in Yves Saint Laurent, Chloe, Bill Gibb and more. It's from the 1973 September issue which is packed full of very loverly couture. How stunning does she look in these images, she has such striking features, and I think she is still very beautiful today almost 40 years later.

I am so inspired by these looks and the nostalgic 30's & 40's styles of the early 70's, so glamourous and feminine. I am craving printed crepe de chine, sequins, boas, berets and furs, and also those pencil thin eyebrows which seemed to be quite the thing at the time. I have tried to replicate this, it didn't work out too well...

Those are such striking images. She has the perfect look for that kind of 30s style.

I absolutely love that fan, I want one!

And also, evidentally quite a fixture at early Pink Floyd gigs in '66-'67 as she confessed in a "Mojo" article about Syd Barrett a few years back.
