Another interesting feature in this issue is the Ravers Pop Guide to New York, I'll bet most of the boutiques & clubs are long gone now....

What a delightful blast from the past! "The Man From U.N.C.L.E" is my favorite show of all time. It hit me at an age (7-10) that was hugely influential.

All the girls loved Illya Kuryakin (I guessed it was because of his blond hair) but I was fixated on Napolean Solo: his dashing, debonair attitude -- and great hair! -- became my model for manhood.

I loved my my Illya!

But he's back on TV. "Duckie" on NCIS. Still foxy at his age.

Mind you that show has Mark "the silver fox" Harman as well...

I still love him as Duckie on NCIs (but no longer in a fancying way)! xxx
PS Well done on winning that pendant in Annimal's giveaway, I'm a tad jealous but glad it's you. x

David McCallum was also the host of the TNT Show, Phil Spector's followup to the TAMI Show. He also hosted an episode of Hullaballo as his Ilya character.

Finally, here's Martin Newell, popster 'n poet doing his song "Ilya Kuryakin Looked At Me":

Ilya!!!! So clever was he, he was also The Invisible Man and now... a Dr with NCIS... he gets around.

Sigh. He's lovely, as was Solo but I am most amused that the men from U.N.C.L.E. had to fight THRUSH... !!!

I never seen "the man from U.N.C.L.E." but I remember "Sapphire & Steel". Cool!

Another great cover Becka. I was about to say Sapphire and Steel but Tarkus beat me to it. Him and Joanna Lumley I think it was late 70's. Hope all's good with you xx
