Top 10 Award

I was rather pleased to be tagged over at Dolly Rocker Girl for the Top 10 Award, this particular tag asks you to list your top 10 beauty products, so here are mine!

1. Duwop Lipstick in Private Nude - love this shade it is perfect for a delicate daytime look & smells like proper lipstick should!

2. Aussie Formula 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner - this is a longtime bathroom staple of mine, it's great that you can either pile it on for a deep condition or just use a little for a regular wash, smells lovely too.

3. Nails Inc. Polishes - I will rave to anyone and everyone about this brand, I find their nail varnishes sooo long lasting & easy to apply. They have a fab range of colours & cool names to boot.

4. Boots No7 Perfect & Protect Hot Cloth Cleanser - A budget version (half the price) of the famous Liz Earle Cleanser Polish, I actually prefer this and have found it has really calmed my skin down.

5. Boots No7 Perfect & Protect Day Cream - flipping great.

6. Boots No7 Perfect & Protect Night Cream - see above!

7. Bliss Manicure's Best Friend Cuticle Cream - a gift from big sis, I wouldn't be without this.

8. Bed Head by Tigi After Party - this smoothing hair cream is fab, it hasn't much hold but for short hair like mine when you want a more natural look its perfect. Lasts forever and supposedly keeps your hair stink free?!?

9. Lola by Marc Jacobs - I recently relieved my mother of this scent & along with it's cute packaging it smells gorge too!

10. Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream - If you don't have a tube of this classic cream in your possession get some now! It can be used for absolutely everything, the best tip I received (from big sis) is to apply a little to your face before your foundation and you do get a rather nice glow!

Award time!

A humungous thank you to the fabuliscious Miss Annimal for awarding me a Stylish Blogger Award. If you haven't checked out her blog yet, well where have you been! This is one foxy lady with a wardrobe and thrifting skills to die for! Go here now Annimal House.

The rules are well known in bloggerland, once accepting this award you should share a little about yourself, so here I go....

I have recently moved back to the place I grew up, it's a bizarre little island off the south coast of england, it  does have a couple of claims to fame - Rod Hull and Michael Crawford are both from here and during the second world war you needed a passport to get here!

I haven't been on holiday for 13 years! I'm hoping this will change this year, I reckon I deserve one by now!

My guilty pleasure at the moment is the terribly trashy The Only Way is Essex - Shuuuttt Upppp!

I'm a total Royalist, I love all the pomp and circumstance and although I think Wills and Kate are as dull as dishwater, I'm organising a Royal High Tea for Wedding Day!

I pass this award onto all of you my lovely followers if you so wish to accept it!

The Hello Lover Shoe Award

I have been tagged again by the lovely Christina at Fashion's Most Wanted for The Hello Lover Shoe Award, the rules are that you have to show off seven pairs of your favourite shoes and tag another seven bloggers to do the same. Most of my readers will know I can't resist a little shoe porn and I decided to play around with my new iphone camera app Hipstamatic which gives really cool old style pics, sorry it messes with the colours a bit tho..... anyhoo here we go!
Terry De Havilland Brown and Orange Snakeskin Ankle Strap Platforms
These are my favourite ever pair of shoes, I bought them to wear to my sister's wedding two years ago, like most of TDH's shoe designs they are a remake of a 70s design, and they are just gorgeous. I got them for an absolute steal on ebay.

Purple Suede & Leather Op Art Vintage mid 60's Mary Janes.
I used to only wear vintage shoes, specifically from the 60s. I have moved onto modern shoes now (albeit in a vintage style) as I just couldn't bear them falling apart all the time. I still have a number of old shoes but really only save them for special occasions. These are super, perfect 60s shoes. You can't really tell from the pics but they are a deep cadbury's purple. I love the matchbox heel and almond toe.
Nude Suede & Gold Snakeskin D-Havz Platform Wedges.
From the D-Havz fusion line, I am still kicking myself for not buying these and the black and orange version on Miss Selfridges' website a few years back when they were in the sale for £8, I ended up finding these on ebay sometime later. These are super high and sexy! Also quite comfy...

Miss L Fire Brown Platform Sandals
Another great "retro" brand, the styles are usually quite 40's/50's but occasionally there are some fab platforms. I love the crochet flowers at the toe and the leopard insole. These are also surprisingly comfortable. They also came in black at the time.

Office Black Suede & Leather Detail Dolly Shoes
These are one of my pairs of everyday work shoes, the suede isn't too practical but just look at the cute heel and leather detail.
Vintage 60s Petrol Blue Biba Canvas Boots
I have posted these before but from a distance. The tightest boots you will ever wear, still in great condition. I always get compliments when I wear these, even though practically nobody I know has any idea what Biba was! I also have a pair in cream which are unworn and if I can't afford Mr De Havilland to make me a pair of custom shoes I think I'll wear them when (and if!) I get married!

Vintage 60's Gold & Gemstone T Bar Sandals
I have had these for more years than I care to remember, and I still break them out every summer. You can still find these on ebay US in all sorts of colours and with different heel heights.
So there you go, seven of my favourite pairs of shoes. I could have gone on believe me! Below are the bloggers whom I pass this award onto, if they wish to accept it of course!

The Plastic Joy Award

I have been tagged by the loverly Christina at Fashion's Most Wanted for The Plastic Joy Award.
The rules of the award are you have to pick five or more characters from film or television that you think are rather scrummy. It has to be the character, not the actor and tag a few more bloggers to pass it on to. Here are my choices.

Jean Pierre Leaud as Antoine Doinel from Truffaut's "Adventures of" series of films which I love dearly and of course I had to include a gorgeous 60s frenchman.
Antoine Doinel! Antoine Doinel! Antoine Doinel!

Luke Wilson as Richie Tenenbaum in The Royal Tenebaums, one of my all time favourite films.
I love him in this I even have a little cartoon robot thing of this character on my desk at work!

The divine Dickie Attenborough as Pinkie Brown in Brighton Rock, cos we all love a bad boy and I like his suit.

Josh Harnett as Trip Fontaine in The Virgin Suicides - "you're a stone fox..."
I will overlook the awful wig.

David Hemmings as Thomas in Blow Up.
The only man who can get away with white jeans.

Richard Beckinsale as Geoffrey in The Lovers. Need I say more?

One person I really wanted to include was Cillian Murphy who I have a major crush on, but my favourite character of his is Kitten in Breakfast on Pluto and I wasn't sure if that would count, although I do think he looks gorgeous in that film!

So here is your mission if you wish to accept it.....
